Although I am not an ambassador of Prince William County Chamber of Commerce, I have had the absolute pleasure to learn more about the positive impact of what goes on behind the scenes through their stories. There are so many stories of values, integrity, and kindness that are rooted deep within this community. And that is what I wish everyone knew about the Prince William County Chamber of Commerce. These past few weeks, I have been working closely beside @Caitlin Stephens&@Erik Ayers to uncover the thoughtful tellings of the dedicated ambassadors with the help of our tool GoodSeeker. We've been making an effort to speak with the members to hear what being an ambassadors means to them. I have had so many positive replies, and I am truly excited every time we receive a story. This is what community is all about! On Friday, I had the privilege of starting off my morning by speaking with MSG @Caleb Green. We had set up our Zoom meeting to connect and learn more about our story sharing mission. Mr. Green and I ended up swapping many stories. I learned he was a father and husband, a veteran, a very talented vocalist, and a very kind human. His group, Voices of Service definitely gained a fan this day. He is an extremely mission-driven person and a stellar representation of the Prince William County Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors. One of the many things we had talked about was the concept of impactful moments. I shared with Caleb that I had recently seen a video of a father and son walking up to a famous musician asking for an autograph. Instead of writing them off, the musician was so kind and happy to interact with his fans. The father then said a phrase I could not get out of my head: "It takes one second to make an entire moment." We chatted more about how his time at the Chamber has been filled with interactions that he'll remember for a lifetime. One story that stood out to me was when I learned that Caleb had been introduced to the Veteran's Council through Mr. Michael Whitlock. After having to attend to some family matters, Caleb recalled receiving an encouraging phone call from Michael. A simple act of kindness that made a lasting impact. It showed him the values of the council and community, and the compassion of these ambassadors. He went on to tell me how he still remembers this moment, and how since then the PWC Chamber has become a second family to him. This one story and my amazing conversation with Caleb told me all I needed to know. What an inspring reflection of the character that lives within the Ambassadors that make up the Prince William Chamber of Commerce. This campaign may end, but these stories are forever. I hope anyone who contributes or reads these stories learns of the big impact these individuals have made on the community. I want to thank Caleb for taking the time to speak with me and sharing his story of impact, and to Caitlin for organizing this meaningful initiative. Thank you. :) Here's to growing our story library to show what The Chamber is all about.
